This is advance warning that Sunday the 12th of August is the date of our regular monthly catch-up. (For those who require advance advance warning, the post with all the dates is right where it's always been.)

Unfortunately, I won't be there, as I've got to follow through on an obligation that I've been blowing off since the SANFL season started - this is my last opportunity to make good. Now that you know where I'll be, you can rest assured that I'd rather be with you.

Keep in mind that someone has to have a beer in order to keep the bad spirits away, and as I won't be there someone else has to shoulder that terrible burden.

I've got a terrible head cold. :( Don't know whether I'll be there later today or not.

It turned out to be just me and Calliopeaurora. Everyone had a great time. :-)

Peterick might have been there, I'm not sure. There was a guy there with a laptop who looked kind of like him but I wasn't sure cos I haven't seen him in ages. But he didn't respond to any eye contact with a wave or smile or hello and he left pretty soon so I'm guessing it wasn't him.

You know, a funny thing happened on Sunday. I had this meeting on in the city in the morning and some time to kill so I stopped off in Bongiornos to try to do some writing and as I was leaving I saw this weird bearded version of a friend of mine who I haven’t seen for a while only he doesn’t have a beard and has a mohawk and he didn’t (this guy in the café) so even though he was looking at me funny I kind of tried not to make eye contact because, well, he might have asked me for money or something and then afterwards I thought “I wonder when the not-november meetings are” but by then I was halfway home and I would have been too embarrassed to come back after being so rude anyway.

So… yeah, it probably was me.

I’m sorry.

Next month I promise to try to remember the meeting. That will be a first.
